Who are the “Biggest Losers?” Men or Women

It’s been talk about whether it’s the men or women from the “Biggest Loser” that have more drive and momentum to “lose weight and feel great” on the show. For one thing, more men have won titles for the “Biggest Loser” as the women.  This could be because men are more genetically built to lose faster, or they’re just better competitors. 

 But lately, it seems as if women started leading the packs to win all prizes.  Is this because women are becoming stronger or they are more confident that they could win?

 The bottom line is that no matter how different the performance of men and women are on the show, but in the end, they all feel like the greatest loser, because they have transformed from unhealthy lifestyles to one full of healthy habits, liveliness, and fun.

Will Smith Talks Politics

How would you feel if the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, a.k.a. Will Smith, decided to run for president?  Okay so I might be stretching the truth a little bit, but his wife Jada confirmed that Will is thinking about dabbling in a little bit of politics.  I mean, and why wouldn’t he be an ideal candidate?  He’s fought of aliens (Independence Day and Men in Black), he’s killed tons of dead guys again (I Am Legend), went from homeless to a rich man (Pursuit of Happiness), and he’s defeated many boxes in the pursuit of the  heavyweight boxing title (Ali)… and did I forget to mention his role in saving the world with mighty powers (Hancock)?

 He’s a hero in my book.  I think he would be a perfect candidate for the House.  We’ll see where his agenda takes him.

Prepare Your Closet for the New You!!!

Yes, Yes! It’s a new year, which means getting rid of the old and making room for the new. Sometimes when you feel as if you’re ready for new and fresh ordeals, it’s important to eliminate old “wear and tear” items in your life that may hinder you from experiencing and recognizing what’s ahead. After reading my cousin’s blog, I’ve been able to free myself of things that I have been keeping in my closet and behind closed doors for the longest— you guessed it, CLOTHING!

In the past, I have been reluctant to let go of certain pieces (knowing that I won’t wear them again) just because I felt as if I might wear it again…NOT.

So, this weekend, I bagged up 3 bags of clothing to give to the Salvation Army or the Goodwill. Not only have I made room for new apparel in my closet, but I’m also happy in knowing that I am helping someone else out.

So, what’s hidden in your closet? We’d like to know.

Pick up your packages

St. Andrews will close at noon on Christmas Eve day and will be closed on Christmas Day.  Please be sure to pick up your packages so you will have them for Christmas.  If you would like your package left in your apartment, please call the office today at 706-854-0708.

Holiday Reception at St. Andrews

Please join us for our annual Resident Holiday Reception on Wednesday, December 16, from 5-7 pm at the clubhouse.  Hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be served.  Please bring your entire family and join in the festivities.
