Doughnuts CAN Be Good For An Office Snack
I can feel the pounds creeping up on me at work… and why is that? It’s because we’re always having doughnuts during meetings! And although they’re so delicious, I have to slow down on them. So then I started thinking of some other alternative snacks that we could possibly have during meetings, and guess what? Doughnuts are included! Here’s a few items that are considered best choice snacks while at work:
Banana Bread: 190 calories. It will take 53 minutes to walk it off.
Half-bagel: 120 calories. It will take 33 minutes to walk off.
Doughnut holes: 100 calories and will take 28 minutes to walk off.
Grapes: 58 calories and will take 16 minutes to walk off.
This was refreshing compared to some of the worst choices:
Cinnamon roll: 760 calories along with 211 minutes to walk it off.
Frosted cupcake: 360 calories and 100 minutes to walk it off.
Croissant: 272 calories and 75 minutes to walk it off.
Crème doughnut: 307 calories and 85 minutes to walk off.
So when the next meeting adjourns, recommend doughnut holes instead of a whole doughnut for snacks.

Yummy Chicken Parmesan Recipe
Because I love Olive Garden’s chicken parmesan entrée so much, I decided to try and make a home-style version. And lucky for me, I found a quick recipe for it. If you’re a parmesan lover like me, I would definitely recommend trying this one:
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 7 ounces seasoned bread crumbs
- 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 12 ounces pasta sauce
- 6 slices Monterey Jack cheese
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Pour beaten eggs into a shallow dish or bowl. In another shallow dish or bowl, mix together the grated Parmesan cheese and bread crumbs. Dip chicken breasts into beaten egg, then into bread crumb mixture to coat.
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium high heat. Add coated chicken and saute for about 8 to 10 minutes each side, or until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.
- Pour tomato sauce into a lightly greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Add chicken, then place a slice of Monterey Jack cheese over each breast, and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until cheese is completely melted.
Enjoy!
Baked Burritos
Can we say BURRITOS? Here’s an easy baked burrito recipe to try for dinner tonight. It’s filled with beans, tomatoes, beef, and other key ingredients to make the best burrito ever! Here’s what you’ll need:
Ingredients:

1 large onion, chopped
3 tablespoons ground cumin
3 tablespoons minced garlic cloves
2 lbs lean ground beef
1-2 tablespoons chili powder
Red pepper flakes to taste
Directions:
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add olive oil to skillet over medium heat and heat until hot. Add the chopped onions to the pan and saute approximately 5 minutes. Add the garlic and ground cumin and cook for another minute.
2. Crumble in the ground beef and cook until browned about 10 minutes.
3. Add the chili powder and salt, (and red pepper flakes, if desired) stirring. Then add the beef broth and tomato paste and bring to a slow boil. Cook, uncovered approximately 20 minutes or until most of the liquid is evaporated.
4. While the beef mixture is reducing, pour 1 can of the tomato soup into a 2 cup measuring cup and add about 1/3 can of water; stir well. Pour the soup mixture evenly into a baking dish measuring approximately 9″ x 13″. Then repeat the procedure with the 2nd can of soup and set aside.

Roast Chicken Bonanza

I fully admit I write more about food when I’m hungry. So on Tastespotting.com today, when I entered “roast chicken,” I thought “Mother Lode.”
Personally, I’m a fan of baked barbecue chicken because of how easy it is, even if it isn’t truly barbecue. But beer-in-the-rear chicken is a close second if you have access to a grill. It’s just too messy for your oven, but do-able.
What’s your favorite roast chick recipe? For ease or for taste?

I was looking over one of our newest resident’s yelp.com page – a website where you can leave reviews for any and everything – and she had ordered dinner from a local restaurant through http://orders.2go-box.com. Being the inquisitive, nosy person that I am I headed straight to the website to check out what they have to offer.
Basically, the business is called Who Cooks Anymore? and they offer complete home and hotel restaurant delivery. They deliver all over the CSRA everyday starting at 4 PM. Who Cooks Anymore? delivers hot restaurant-prepared meals directly to your door from over 32 restaurants. It’s a great way to enjoy a nice meal and give you back some of your valuable time.
If you are ever in a crunch for time, don’t feel like cooking, or are just completely lazy, don’t forget to visit this wonderful site – http://orders.2go-box.com. We will gladly buzz them in, but make sure if it’s after hours that your number is programmed to the gate!
