Mark your calendars, folks!!!
Who wants to see the Georgia Bulldogs and the South Carolina Gamecocks on the same turf in Augusta?
The Border Bash is an exciting family event that brings Georgia Bulldog and South Carolina Gamecock rivals together on the river in Augusta, Georgia to celebrate the annual rivalry football game. 2010 will mark the event’s 17th year and has grown into an evening that now includes family and musical entertainment, cheerleaders and mascots from both teams, sports team logo vendors and all the food vendors you could ever want. ~Augusta Biz
The event has been extremely popular in the last few years! Come out and support the event, as the proceeds will benefit organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, Make a Wish Foundation, the Youth Challenge Academy at Fort Gordon, and more!
The event will be held at the Augusta Commons Saturday, September 10th, at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate. The Augusta Commons isn’t that far from St. Andrews Apartments either!

Days of Summer… What Have You Done?
August 24, 2010 by spalmer
Filed under Apartment Living, Around Town, Food
Have you fully taken advantage of all there is to do during the summer? If you haven’t, don’t worry– there’s still time! If you haven’t fulfilled the bigger things about summer, like the the big vacation to an island, or even Disney World, there are some things (the little things) that you can still accomplish during this time of year.
- Have a water balloon fight.
- Make fresh lemonade
- Have a cook-out!
- Fly kites!
- Make homemade ice cream.
- Watch the sun set.
- Take a stroll along the beach.
- Relax by the pool!
There’s still time to take advantage of these opportunities. It’s the “little things” that have the ability to put a smile on our faces. With that said, what are some things you would like to do around Augusta or at St. Andrews Apartments before we say “Goodbye” to summer?

“Cool” Tips for the Summer
July 30, 2010 by spalmer
Although Fall is approaching, it’s important that we stay cool during these summer months, right?
So here’s a couple of things to keep in mind as you try to enjoy outdoor activities with these hot summer days we’re having:
- Pull out those cool sunglasses- it’ll protect your eyes from the sun’s rays… but it still allows enough light to pass through for us to enjoy it!
- Bring out your best sunscreen- EVERYONE needs to wear sunscreen to protect your skin from getting damaged. So before you go out, remember to lather it up!
- Wear hats when possible. It’ll keep the sun from directly glaring onto your face.
- When engaging in outside activities, try to go either early morning or late afternoon when it’s a little cooler.
What do you do to protect yourself from the sun?
